The difference between a Instax 7s and Instax 8:
1. Instax 8 only needs 2 batteries whereas Instax 7s need 4 batteries!(Isn't that awesome!) Besides, the weight of the Instax 8 is lighter.
2. Instax 8 has 'High-Key' mode which allows your photos to be softer.
The film used for Instax 8 is the same as Instax 7s approximately 62mm x46mm because it is a size of a credit card you could keep it in your purse! You don't need to worry that it is too BIG! :D
