Shutter Speed

Shutter Speed is the timing of the shutter curtain (open and close). Example 1/50 means in 1 second the shutter curtain could open and close 50 times.

On the right the shutter speed is lower than the left. The camera could not capture the 'moment' fast therefore it is blur.

When taking photos of a moving object, such as sports you would want a sharp and clear picture therefore you need to set the shutter speed high.
